You are considered a domestic student for fee purposes if you are:
- an Australian citizen (including dual citizens)
- an Australian permanent resident (all categories including humanitarian visas)
- a New Zealand citizen
- a spouse of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or New Zealand citizen (must be able to provide evidence of a current spousal visa)
- a child of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or New Zealand citizen (must be able to provide evidence)
English Language Requirements for All Courses
Students are required to provide evidence of one of the following:
- Completion of WACE with scaled marks of at least 50 in ATAR English or ATAR Literature, or A grade in General English
- A transcript attesting to successful completion of at least one full year of Australian or comparable higher education studies
- A transcript attesting to successful completion of an AQF diploma or advanced diploma
- A transcript attesting to successful completion of an Australian or comparable non-award post-secondary level studies or tertiary preparation courses
- A certificate of successful completion of a university preparation course where the course has been evaluated by Sheridan academic staff and approved by the Executive Principal
- A certificate of results in a Special Tertiary Admission Test (STAT) with a minimum score of 140 in Written English - (N.B. - Applicants 18 years or under please contact the Registrar to receive a letter of invitation to sit the STAT test)
- Other (ie International Baccalaureate or GCSE certificate)

Minimum Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Courses

Recent Secondary Education Applicants
Open to persons who are 17 years of age or over who have either:
- Completed the WACE and achieved the published ATAR entry score (or its equivalent as determined by the Academic Council) for the course, or
- Completed the WACE and a university preparation course authorised by an Australian university, or
- Completion of a recognised university foundations course, or
- Completed a VET Certificate IV in a relevant discipline, or
- Completed an International Baccalaureate (Applicants should contact Sheridan’s Registrar for information regarding what score is required for entry into their chosen course), or
- Completed secondary school offshore and met the minimum academic entry score upon completion of their study (with evidence to Sheridan’s Registrar for review), or
- Provided a portfolio (applicants are asked to contact the Sheridan Registrar for information regarding portfolio entry).
Work Life Experience or Vocational Education and Training Study Applicants
Sheridan welcomes applications from persons of at least 17 years of age who do not qualify for admission on the basis of formal educational attainment. Sheridan recognises that preparation for higher education is not restricted to formal educational attainment and that valuable intellectual and skills development can be gained through wide ranging experiences and informal study.
Students may be considered for alternative entry based on an assessment of a portfolio demonstrating employment experience, personal competencies, and other qualifications. Each student’s situation will be considered on its merits on the basis of evidence of achievement and of their interest in and capacity to work in the field of study being considered for admissions (applicants are asked to contact the Sheridan Registrar for information regarding entry).
Other recognised methods for non-school leaver entry include:
- Completing a VET Certificate IV or higher in a relevant discipline
- Completing two or more units of tertiary study which are completed as a separate enrolment
- Achieving a score of 140 or higher in the Written English and 140 in the Multiple Choice STAT test.
To be considered for alternative entry, students must be 17 years of age by 1 January (for February entry) or by 1 June (for July entry) in the year of commencement of the course.
Home School Applicants
Sheridan welcomes applications from graduates of home school. Home school graduates will need to have either:
- Completed a VET Certificate IV or higher in a relevant discipline, or
- Achieved a score of 140 or higher in the Written English and 140 in the Multiple Choice STAT test (students will be required to contact Sheridan’s Registrar to receive permission to sit the STAT test if they are not yet 19 years of age), or
- Provided a portfolio (applicants are asked to contact the Sheridan Registrar for information regarding portfolio entry).
Minimum Admission Requirements for Postgraduate Courses
In addition to the general admission requirements below, there may be course-specific entry requirements which are outlined in the relevant course pages.

Applicants who do not meet the graduate experience requirement outlined in 5.5.2 above may, at the discretion of the Dean, be permitted to enrol in postgraduate courses “nested” within a Masters course (for example – a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma). However, on completion of their “nested” course they will not be permitted to articulate into the Masters course until the experience requirements listed in 5.5.2 and any other course-specific entry requirements are met.
Work Life Experience Applicants
Open to persons who have:
- graduated with a higher education diploma from an Australian provider or other approved education provider with a credit average (or equivalent), and
- provided satisfactory evidence demonstrating the equivalent of at least five years’ relevant work experience and are assessed by the Dean as being able to successfully complete the program and make a positive contribution to the learning environment.
Applicants who do not have a credit average must submit a 1000 word statement demonstrating their suitability for the program to be reviewed by the Academic English Lecturer and the Dean.
Early Offers
If you are enrolled in a VET or university preparatory course or you have an expected ATAR, you can apply now for an early offer to study at Sheridan.
1. How do I qualify without my ATAR results?
Attach one of the following to your application:
- Year 11 report
- predictive ATAR results from your school
- completion of a recognised university enabling program prep
- a relevant Cert IV course
2. Can I apply through TISC?
No. Students who wish to apply to Sheridan need to apply directly to Sheridan.
3. What happens after I apply?
If you successfully complete our application process, you will receive a conditional letter of offer. Once WACE and ATAR results are finalised or you have completed your enabling program or relevant Cert IV course, you will need to send your results or proof of completion to our Admissions Team to confirm you have met the conditions of entry stated in the letter of offer. All early offers are conditional on students meeting Sheridan entry requirements, including any entry requirements for the specific course nominated.
4. How do I apply?
Please follow the link for detailed instructions and to download the necessary forms. Instead of attaching your completed WACE certificate and ATAR results, please attach either your Year 11 results or your predictive Year 12 ATAR results or evidence you are enrolled in an enabling program or relevant Cert IV course.
5. Can I change my mind after my WACE certificate and my ATAR results are finalised?
Yes, of course. Simply email to notify us if you would like to change your course or if you would like to enrol at another institution.

NOTES:
- F – Full time, P – Part time
- A standard full-time load is 8 units per year.
- The course fees are current for the 2025 academic year and subject to change. They are indicative of a standard full-time load. Textbooks and field trips are included in the cost of study.
- Graduates of Australian Baptist Education (ABE) schools and Baptist schools in Western Australia are invited to register for a limited number of free tuition scholarships offered each year. Current staff of Australian Baptist Education (ABE) Schools are also eligible to apply for the scholarships. Scholarship students are only required to pay for textbooks and field trips.
- Enrolled students who are Australian Citizens, holders of Permanent Humanitarian Visas or eligible New Zealand Citizens who wish to defer their fees, have access to ABE Tuition Repayment Plan.
- Single unit enrolments are available. Units can be completed for ‘credit’ ($940/unit) or for ‘audit’ ($500/unit).

How to Apply
STEP 1: Choose your course
Choosing a course of interest is the first step in your journey towards academic success and a rewarding career. Our admissions team can counsel you in choosing the right course and answer any questions you might have.
STEP 2: Check the important dates
Sheridan's academic year is divided into two semesters.
Courses have intake dates in late February/early March & late July/early August each year.
Applications close one month prior to Orientation Days. Please see our Academic Calendar for specific dates. These dates will assist you to choose the start date that best suits you.
STEP 3: Check you meet the course entry requirements
To be considered for a place in a Sheridan course, you must meet the specific entry requirements - please refer to relevant sections above.
STEP 4: Do you have the relevant supporting evidence?
Every application will require key documents to be provided with the application. These include:
- Photo ID (Passport/Drivers Licence);
- All relevant Academic Documents;
- Current Resume (if applying for a Post Graduate course);
- Proof of residency status (if applicable); and
Along with this, our Checklist in the online Application Form includes additional documents that may be applicable to you and your circumstance.
STEP 5: See if you are eligible for course credits
If you have completed studies in Australia, or in studies in English in your home country, you may be eligible to make an Application for Credit Transfer for units completed at a Bachelor level, or for relevant courses completed at the Diploma or Advanced Diploma level. If you have completed units of study at a postgraduate level in Australia, or studies in English, in your home country, you may be eligible to make an application for credit transfer for units completed.
Eligible students will receive a reduction in the units required to complete their course.
STEP 6: Confirm your financial obligations for your course
One of Sheridan's core commitments is to reduce the financial barriers to quality higher education.
You can view our tuition fee structure for each of our courses.
You can also consider applying for ABE Tuition Repayment Plan or a Tuition Free Placement (for Australian Baptist school graduates). Please discuss these options with our Registrar.
If you are not applying for one of the above tuition payment methods, your initial deposit for full-time students will be equivalent to one semester of full-time study and will cover your first four units of study.
For part-time students, the initial deposit will be equivalent to the number of units taken in that semester.
STEP 7: Submitting your application
You can submit your application form online. It is important that you prepare the relevant forms and documents required for assessment. Once you have everything in place and attached, submit your application to the admissions team.
Prospective domestic students should complete this form in full with as much detail as possible.
This form will assist you in preparing for your future studies. The form will allow our admissions team to ensure the course you have selected is a good fit and that you have all the necessary information to ensure the best possible outcome for your studies.
STEP 8: Complete your student interview
If your application meets the relevant requirements for the course and the Sheridan selection criteria, the Registrar will invite you to an interview with our Admissions Team. This will take place face-to-face or via a video meeting.
STEP 9: Accept your offer
Following a successful interview, you will be issued an official Letter of Offer & Acceptance.
Sign the acceptance and return, in FULL, the Letter of Offer, along with any updated contact details and evidence of payment of the Initial Deposit.
You will then receive your Confirmation of Enrolment and welcome letter.
