Meet Cindy! Originally from Hong Kong, Cindy completed her Bachelor of Business degree in Accounting at Sheridan Institute of Higher Education. She currently works as a full-time Account Executive at an insurance broker company.

We chatted with Cindy about her experience with us at Sheridan.

While Cindy's current career aligns with her prior work experience, her academic qualifications opened new doors for her. She received a message from a headhunter via LinkedIn during her final semester to pursue an opportunity in the insurance industry. After completing her studies, a series of interviews led her to choose a national insurance firm, marking the beginning of her professional journey. Discussing her career path with a Sheridan lecturer during the final semester proved instrumental for her. Reflecting on her university experience, Cindy identifies key skills from her Bachelor of Business that are invaluable in her daily work - problem-solving, communication, analysis, and calculation skills acquired enabling her to navigate the complexities of her role with finesse.

Her role as an Account Executive involves balancing team meetings, stakeholder interactions and continuous training to stay abreast of industry knowledge. Daily tasks include handling client enquiries, managing policy renewals, chasing outstanding payments, and ensuring seamless communication between insurers and clients.
