Biography

A lifelong learner and educator, Blake holds qualifications in law, management, philosophy and theology. He has studied and taught in three countries. After completing a first degree in economics in the USA, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study economics at National University of Singapore. His American postgraduate studies led to a Doctor of Jurisprudence law degree from Stanford University, while his PhD in philosophical theology was awarded in Australia.

In America, Blake lectured in HRM and other business subjects. Subsequently, he worked in the test preparation industry in Singapore for several years, helping students and working professionals prepare for university admission tests such as SAT, GMAT and GRE. Having relocated with his family to Perth, he has served since 2016 as a lecturer/course coordinator in philosophy and law at the University of Notre Dame Australia. For excellence in teaching as measured by student feedback, Blake received multiple letters of commendation from the Office of the Vice Chancellor at Notre Dame.

Biography

As a Pastor with a background studying Theology and Therapy, Andrea spent ten years working in the social services sector, including in Church Ministry as a Youth Pastor a Chaplain, and Case Manager in mental health before running for Parliament in 2008.

As a lawyer, Andrea completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Canberra and worked for both the Federal and ACT Attorney-Generals in public policy and legislative reform as a lawyer, and worked for the UN's International Organisation for Migration, while completing her Masters of International Law at ANU, which was important work as a former refugee child.

As an entrepreneur advocate lobbyist, Andrea Founded Fighting for Justice Foundation, an anti-trafficking NGO committed to parliamentary lobbying, human rights advocacy and legal preventative community education in the Austral-Asia region for six years. During this time, Andrea made over 20 legal submissions and recommendations to both Federal and NSW Parliaments on Modern Slavery matters, human rights, and related matters, working in anti-trafficking projects across South-East Asia, in the USA in partnership with Vital Voices, while travelling and speaking at over 30 conferences nationally and internationally, including at Geneva. 

As an academic, Andrea Tokaji has been lecturing in law and business while completing her PhD on international human rights law in business at Notre Dame University since 2018.

Andrea moved to Perth to begin work with Sheridan College in January 2020 continuing lecturing in law and business and PhD research in slavery. 
Andrea loves singing, swimming, all water sports, daily runs, playing tennis, good coffee, good food, good wine, a good book, and good conversations.
Andrea loves to travel, almost as much as the love of her life – Milo, who is a great conversationalist and travel companion.
